In 1773, a series of strong earthquakes known as “Santa Marta earthquakes”, destroyed the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, present-day Antigua Guatemala, so the capital city was moved and the original buildings remained inhabited for a long time.

Visiting Antigua is going back to the colonial times, 16th century and witnessing a city surrounded by priceless architecture, colonial history, a lovely climate that guarantees the visitor a pleasant and unique stay.
